Lanvin's show started off simply. The classic elegant designs of the dresses and jackets harken back to Alber Elbaz's most recent collection with ruffles, lots of black, and draping. They are beautiful, but hardly groundbreaking. As the show wears on, we start to see an evolution in the pieces. The cuts become a little more complex, the colours deeper, and the materials more textured. Finally, we are wowed and awed by the elegant draping and beautiful colours that elbaz presents, truly a magnificent treat for the eye.
