Chanel.

Obviously, no Couture week would be complete without the marvel that is Karl and the House of Chanel.

I loved his take on the Recession by creating the paper party -- remember the paper bag princess?
This is not without a sense of irony of course, as I'm sure none of these pieces go for less than 1,000 euros.

I'll just keep myself happy by staring longingly at the photos and hoping one day to win that 40 million lottery.
(I should credit WWD for the images)

Gaultier highlights

Now I'm not big on trends -- frankly the big shoulders we're seeing just freak me out. Fashion, especially Couture, is about works of art. And this season, despite odd 80s throwbacks, did not disappoint.

Here are some of my faves from Gaultier.

Couture Week!

So I'm trying to get work done, but knowing that more photos get posted from the Paris Haute Couture shows makes it difficult to concentrate. Thank god for WWD and Coutorture for their wonderful pics!

The highlight for sure was Dior's show. Everything about it. Sigh.
