karl and claudia

supermodels from the 90s are everywhere! Christy Turlington is in every ad I see and Kate Moss... well, I guess she never really went anywhere.

Claudia Schiffer was photographed by the genius that is Karl Lagerfeld for the October issue of Vogue germany. She looks stunning and the images in this editorial are truly something special.

though, her outfits are remiscent of Dior's most recent Couture collection. But beautiful nontheless.

wild things

Opening Ceremony, no doubt banking on both the upcoming film and the fact that fur is huge this season, has just released a line of faux fir garments, inspired by the children's classic tale Where the Wild Things Are.

chanel avant audrey

Have I mentioned yet how excited I am for the new film Coco Avant Chanel?
It opens in Toronto this weekend and I can't wait!

Audrey Tautou, best known for her role as the fabuleux Amelie Poulain, stars as the Mademoiselle, avant her life as the more famous Coco.

So excited!

...and while you're eagerly awaiting the opening of the stunning film, check out the new ad for No. 5, also starring the lovely Audrey.

trench warfare

For its SS2010 collection, Burberry Prorsum came home. Staging its first show in London in the eight years that Christopher Bailey has been at the helm of the classic British brand, Burberry returned for what was easily the most buzzed-about show at London Fashion Week.
Drawing star power from the young influencers to the established powers, the show saw such high calibre celebrity as Emma Watson, Mary-Kate Olsen, Frida Pinto, Dev Patel, Anna Wintour and Carine Roitfeld.

The collection itself featured an array of updates on the classic trench coat, once worn in the torturous trenches of the First World War, but now seen as a symbol of fashion and wealth. For the new look, Bailey shortened the length and added details like frills, bunching and strong shoulders. The rest of the collection came in a variety of pastel colours like cotton candy pink, lilac, mint green and daffodil yellow.

A highlight of the collection for this blogger was the playful mix of textures, from soft shines to glittery strength, to sheers and satins, the whole collection portrayed a stunning mix of soft and bold.

bejewelled by Chanel

Chanel has released its new line of fall nail colours. There's a part of me that has to laugh at the dark purples and blues - both shades of polish I used to wear as a 14-year-old when I was rebelling. But now they've been made chic and sophisticated.
These shades of Sapphire and Amathyst are grown-up and are appropriate for anyone whether they're going to work, school, or out for a night on the town. Personally my favourite is Dragon, a lovely shade of jewelled red.
