Tommy loves shoes

One of my favourite bloggers, Canada's own Tommy Ton, has an affinity for shoes unlike any other street style blogger or photographer I've come across.

His photographs of some of Paris' most outrageous shoes makes me wonder who some of these women are, but, of course, they are the fashion world's elite and so the shoes must reflect their status as fashion pioneers.

These are just a few of the shoes I am desperate to own.

What a lovely lady she is becoming. Having graced the pages of Vogue Italia, Fashion and ELLE, among many others, she is a favourite of Karl Lagerfeld and attends such high-fashion events as Paris Fashion Week and the Met Gala.

And now she proves to the world she has brains as well as beauty, having recently enrolled at Columbia. What a lucky roommate she will have... imagine being able to raid her closet.

Pearls of wisdom

It never ceases to astonish me how this little blue planet of ours can create such beauty... lush forests, brightly coloured tropical fish, vast mountains, diamonds and, finally, pearls.

Since ancient times, pearls have epitomized pure, unblemished perfection, symbolizing innocence and purity.

Ladies throughout the fashionable world and throughout history have understood the elegant impact of pearls, from Marie Antoinette to American first ladies, from Coco Chanel, to contemporary artists to Hindu and Persian royalty.

Pearls were the first gems to be embraced by the elegant classes of the world, and it is believed that the first piece of pearl jewellery known is a 2000 year old necklace belonging to a Persian princess.

Pearls truly are jewels of the sea and have the power to add a touch of classic beauty to any outfit on any occasion.

For some reason I am obsessed with the idea of these windows. Holt Renfrew debuted them a few weeks ago - windows dedicated not to the movers and shakers of the fashion industry (designers, models, etc) but the true influencers of these modern times - bloggers.
