the style of la parisienne is relatively simple.

starting with basic pieces in solid colours, les parisiennes derive their fabulous style by focusing on layering and accessories.

the idea is to keep it simple and beautiful. focus on one standout piece, like a leopard clutch, a red belt, a fedora, a fringe bag or a statement necklace. let that piece speak for itself by placing it on a neutral canvas, one solid colour, black & white, jeans.

layering allows the parisienne to reuse pieces in completely different ways; a loose fitting tshirt can be worn with jeans under a blazer, or tucked into a black pencil skirt. a day dress can be worn with coyboy boots or gladiator sandals, or paired with black tights and booties.

ode to the boudoir

perhaps inspired by the golden age of the silver screen, many designers paid homage to the boudoir for their spring collections.

mostly it was the bigger names, galliano, lagerfeld, de la renta, chloe, who followed in dior's steps (from spring couture) and featured bedroom wear on the runway.

but really, what better way for a girl to feel like a goddess than by slipping into something with a little lace and silk...whether it's for a man, or just for herself.
