trench warfare

For its SS2010 collection, Burberry Prorsum came home. Staging its first show in London in the eight years that Christopher Bailey has been at the helm of the classic British brand, Burberry returned for what was easily the most buzzed-about show at London Fashion Week.
Drawing star power from the young influencers to the established powers, the show saw such high calibre celebrity as Emma Watson, Mary-Kate Olsen, Frida Pinto, Dev Patel, Anna Wintour and Carine Roitfeld.

The collection itself featured an array of updates on the classic trench coat, once worn in the torturous trenches of the First World War, but now seen as a symbol of fashion and wealth. For the new look, Bailey shortened the length and added details like frills, bunching and strong shoulders. The rest of the collection came in a variety of pastel colours like cotton candy pink, lilac, mint green and daffodil yellow.

A highlight of the collection for this blogger was the playful mix of textures, from soft shines to glittery strength, to sheers and satins, the whole collection portrayed a stunning mix of soft and bold.
