how to wear... little black dress at a wedding

april officially marks the launch of wedding season. we have a few weddings this season and this year I thought it would be prudent to wear black. Not for any particular reason, I just wanted a cute new lbd. After a strenuous search, I finally decided on the perfect little black dress [form-fitting, hits the knee, sleeveless] and have come up with a few appropriate ideas on how to wear it to a wedding.

the important thing is to downplay the black and use it as a backdrop to highlight accessories and shoes. make these light and colourful. if you want to wear black shoes, make them strappy sandals. if you select classic pumps instead, go with nude or a fun colour like red or blue. accessories should be elegant without making too much of a statement. just enough to highlight your look without attracting too much attention on their own.

while it's fun to glam it up for an evening, the most important fashion rule to remember is that it's all about the bride. whatever you wear, don't upstage the bride on her big day!

and so, without further ado, my looks...
